Around AU in 58 Days: Cruise to Green Island Great Barrier Reef, Cairns

Hoping on a cruise to the Green Island. Green Island is one of the islands located in the Great barrier Reef. It takes about an hour to get to the island and you can catch the boat at The Pier located in Spence St.

We rode on the Big Cat its faster compared to the other one so it took less travel time for us to reach the island. The ride is not really boring because they do show some videos on what to expect in the island and what to look out for especially when you are snorkeling. They would also breif you of the rules and regulations of the island as the island is also a resort and there are priviledges limited to day trip guests in comparison to those checked in.

When we arrived in the island we first had our lunch at the little snack shack. got myself a hawaian burger meal so im stuffed and all ready to spend the rest of the day snorkeling Finding Nemo on the reef!
SNORKELING on Nemo's turf! If you watched the movie Finding Nemo it was located at the Great Barrier Reef.it is the readon why Finding Nemo was a big hit in cairns because even as an animated film it features the wonders of the area. I was snorkelling most of the time and it was tiring because you have to paddle and float on the reaf so you wont step on the corals.it is very important for you not to step on the corals and take good care of Marine Life. here are some of my underwater shots i took.

Isnt it Pretty? I wasnt really planning to take underwater shots but i didnt wanna miss out on documenting the wonder of nature that ill see so we had to rent out an underwater camera at the pier. Fair enough and worth it since i got as the lady said "heaps of photos". I really couldnt see my shot underwater because the current was kinda strong so i just kept on clicking. I got a big memory card anyway:)
The wonderful Shores of Green island where you start jumping in and walk to the reef!

The Great Barrier Reef was counted in as one of the 7 Wonders of Nature. If you want to visit and experience it like I did, the nearest and easiest place to acces it with your family is thru going to green island. Theres a lot to do in the Island actually you could even stay in overnight.

I would recommend you take the trip with Green Island cruises as they are on time with regards to pick ups and drop offs. Plus they also have all sorts of packages that would cater your needs. If you dont wanna dive in well they also have glass bottom boat tours so you could see the marine life They also have Semi submarinse so you could actually feel like you are swimming in the waters but you are not getting wet.

Before the boat took off they had this little fish feeding session where all the big yellow fish were seen from the water. and otw home it was sunset so i was just enjoying the view out on the deck taking "heaps of photos"
